How I can help you.....
Is the worry about COVID, and the current lockdown restrictions triggering your anxiety to the point where your mind is clouded with indecisiveness and negative thoughts? Do you lack motivation, as you while away the days, the monotony merging them into one? Are you feeling you have lost your inner sense of who you are, what you want out of life, and have a fear of missing out? Do you feel you need to talk to someone who's impartial, will not judge or criticise and give you the space to;
I would like to extend a warm welcome. If the above is ringing true for you, then as a qualified Counsellor, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Practitioner and Life Coach based in Kingsteignton, within easy reach of Newton Abbot, Teignmouth, Torbay and Exeter, I may be able to help. I support over 18's, and I am able to offer COVID secure face to face counselling and life coaching, as well as online counselling. I am a registered member and follow the ethical guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the governing body for standards of excellence within the mental health sector.
My aim is to provide a confidential, supportive, impartial and non-judgemental space where you can reflect on your thoughts and feelings around what is currently happening or has happened to you. Together we will unravel the challenging thought patterns, that are holding you back and explore coping strategies that are specific to your needs. Freeing you up to new possibilities so you feel more confident in adopting positive change in your life.
The issues I can help you with in therapy are;

Where I offer Counselling
I am currently doing face to face counselling sessions from my private, calming and comfortable counselling room in Kingsteignton, Devon. This is conveniently located for Newton Abbot, Teignmouth, Torbay (Torquay and Paignton) and Exeter. Whilst COVID-19 is still prevalent I am taking COVID secure measures to ensure clients safety - please scroll down for full details.

I also offer Online & Telephone Counselling
If you are self-isolating or have limited time for your therapy then you might wish to consider online and/or telephone counselling via Zoom (other video software is an option). Research has proven that online counselling is just as effective as face to face and I can confirm that clients respond very well to therapy in the familiar surroundings of their own home. They also enjoy the convenience of not having to factor in travelling times making it easier to set aside quality time for themselves. Online counselling may be more immediate because I have more flexibility around scheduling online counselling sessions. Having this option also enables us to continue with your counselling should you need to self-isolate or if we have to go into another lockdown.
I am keen to ensure that clients have as good a counselling experience both online as they would in-person. Which is why, on the first lockdown, I embarked on an Online & Telephone Counselling course that is mapped to BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) guidelines and accredited by the National Counselling Society (NCS) and the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO). This enabled me to adapt my existing skill sets so I can deliver a private, confidential, safe and effective Online counselling service to all clients.
If you are unsure whether in-person or online counselling will work for you, or if you would like to meet me first to see if I am the right counsellor for you, then please get in touch. I offer a Free Initial Session so we can talk about your needs and considerations. You can contact me via email or phone.
My COVID policy
Please don't suffer alone with feelings of helplessness, loneliness, low self-esteem and over-thinking. If you feel talking to someone is just what you need right now, don't let COVID prevent you from getting the help you need. Talking therapy can help you to make sense of your confusing thoughts and feelings providing mental wellbeing and support throughout this difficult period - please get in touch.
I offer a limited number of face to face counselling sessions and take the following COVID secure measures to ensure a safe environment for both of us:
I politely ask that you consider everyones safety as well as your own in these very difficult times. If you do find that you have to isolate then we can always move to online or telephone counselling for a couple of weeks.
Confidentiality and Security
My clients privacy is extremely important to me which is why I have strict privacy and security policies and procedures in place. You can find out more via my GDPR statement. There are boundaries and limits to confidentiality and I am legally bound to make disclosure to the relevant authorities if a client reveals that they are at serious risk of causing or inflicting harm to others. In addition, if at any point during your counselling you need emergency support, I may ask for your consent to contact your GP or your emergency contact.
Please be aware that my training does not extend to medical training therefore I am unable to provide you with a medical diagnosis. That is for your GP to diagnose. I also don't offer advice or suggest specific behavioural changes. My role as your counsellor and/or life coach is to support you as you discover, explore and own the changes you wish to make.
As well as private counselling and life coaching I am also a counsellor for Torbay Domestic Abuse Services (TDAS) and all of my TDAS counselling has been moved to online for the foreseeable future. As a result I adopt a policy of thoroughness in ensuring clients privacy and security by using communication platforms that are encrypted to limit the potential for data breaches.
